Shine a light on the fans. Nach den Meistern der Inszenierung soll es nun um die Fans gehen. Im Forum von iorr. org findet sich eine Vielzahl von Fankommentaren zu dem Film. Dabei kommt es zu keinen hitzigen Diskussionen, er gefällt, und über die wenigen Kritikpunkte besteht weitestgehend Einigkeit. Einer der wenigen Kritikpunkte in den Bewertungen ist die erste Reihe des Publikums im Beacon Theater:

the hired, Paris Hilton clones, in the FOS area, who were in 95% of the shots, and didn't know the words or the songs being played. Embarrasing faux-pas, imo.
Whoever decided to try and 'MTV Awards' the experience, by employing a gaggle of clapping, blonde sealions, has hurt this movie, and discredited themselves, in the process.


Der Eifer, mit dem gegen diese Fremdkörper, die sie in ihren Augen darstellen, angeschrieben wird, ist gross. Während die einen monieren, dass der Film dadurch nicht authentisch wirke und die Bezeichnung Dokumentarfilm nicht verdiene, bewegen sich die Kommentare anderer auf einer weitaus persönlicheren Ebene. Sie fordern, mal mehr mal weniger explizit, einen Platz für sich, in dem Film. Zu einem richtigen Konzertfilm gehören, so der Tenor, auch richtige Fans, die durch ihre Präsenz und Begeisterung die Band zu noch besseren Leistungen verholfen hätten.

Immer wieder wird das jugendliche Alter der Fan-Statisten als Zeichen ihres Fremdkörperdaseins herangezogen. Ist eine generationenübergreifende Fankultur nicht erwünscht?


I hate them for FIVE reasons - 1) they're young and attractive 2) they got into the Beacon and I didnt 3) they got into the front row of a Stones theatre show, 4) they got paid for doing so and 5) they acted like they'd rather be somewhere else. What the @#$%& is it with all those cellphones? Jesus. You can expect that in a stadium when youre 60 yards away and interest in whats going on on the stage flags occasionally, but when you're in a theatre and Mick Jagger emerges from a side door at the start of 'Sympathy for the Devil' ?
As straycatuk says, they werent sending in the setlists. More like they were texting their dads asking "whats the name of that song that starts with something about 'a crossfire hurricane' or "Theyre playing "Hope you guess my name!".

Hinter dem Unmut darüber, dass nur auf der Bühne, nicht aber im Parkett das Altern sichtbar werden darf, versteckt sich die Forderung angemessen repräsentiert zu werden. Es ist eine Abgrenzung zum Zweck der Selbstbestätigung.
